The Firm was established as the result of the professional experience gained by its founder, Avv. Manfredi Burgio, who over the years practiced at prominent law firms in both Florence and Milan.
It primarily operates in the field of civil and commercial law, assisting both private individuals and companies. With regards to companies, the Firm offers support to all key aspects of business operations, including the drafting of agency and distribution agreements, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, shareholders’ agreements, trademarks and patents, compliance, and disputes involving insurers, clients, or suppliers. When necessary, the Firm relies on a trusted network of professionals across Italy, allowing it to offer comprehensive assistance through established collaborations in areas such as tax advisory, employment and social security law, and criminal law. Over the years, major regional, national, and international businesses have turned to the Firm for legal advice and assistance in all areas essential to the effective operation and economic growth of a company.
Through the assistance provided to Italian clients with activities stretching in Europe and in the World, and through the assistance to foreign companies with interests in Italy, the Firm’s professionals acquired and strengthened their international point of view of the law, simultaneously extending their network of foreign leading professionals. In particular, the Firm drafted numerous agreements and contracts with companies located in emerging countries, such as MENA states and China, which in time are becoming more and more central to the business of Italian and European companies.

He has always focused on commercial and corporate law, with particular attention to companies operating in the real estate and luxury goods sectors, including high fashion. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and author of legal articles, as well as a professor of civil procedure at the School of Specialization for Legal Professions of the University of Florence since 2016.

Avv. Manfredi Burgio graduated from the University of Florence in 1980 with a thesis on the agency contract. Shortly thereafter, he began practicing law as an intern at the Law Firm of Avv. Maurizio Scarfì.
In 1992, together with other Florentine lawyers, he founded the law firm “Brizzi e Burgio”, which rapidly expanded, gaining two new partners and becoming known as “Studio Legale Brizzi – Burgio – Cucurullo - Sarti”.
Alongside his work in Florence, Avv. Manfredi Burgio broadened his geographical area practice in Milan through a long and fruitful collaboration with the renowned legal boutique founded by Prof. Avv. Alberto Mazzoni (“Mazzoni Associati – Verusio Cosmelli”), where he served first as of counsel (1993–2001) and later as an associate (2003–2011).
In 2011, he co-founded, establishing offices in Florence, Milan, and Venice, the law firm “Moretti Burgio” with Avv. Fabio Moretti, who had been general counsel for the Benetton group and of the Armani Group, and for IBM in Italy and Paris thereafter.
Since 2020, he has concentrated his activity in Florence, maintaining tight professional links with clients in Italy and abroad.

2007-2023 – Professor of civil procedure at the Advanced School for Legal Professions of the University of Florence.
Over the years, he has specialized in assisting companies in both litigation and out-of-court matters, with a particular focus on compliance, including the drafting of organizational and management models under Legislative Decree 231/2001 and whistleblowing protocols.

Avv. Mattia Burgio graduated in 2018 from the University of Florence and immediately began his legal career.
He completed his traineeship at the well-known Florentine law firm “Neri Pinucci e Associati”, which focuses primarily on corporate criminal law and compliance. During this time, he also worked closely with the law firm “Moretti Burgio”, with offices in Florence, Milan, and Venice, handling commercial law, corporate law, insurance law, and medical liability.
In 2020, he was admitted to the Florence Bar.
Avv. Alfonso Iacoponelli graduated from the University of Siena, then moved to Florence to practice law. Before graduating, he also obtained the Certificate in English Law from Warwick University. In 2012 he was admitted to the Florentine Bar and since then he has been providing legal advice and assistance, both judicial and extrajudicial, to individuals and companies, in civil and commercial law, with specific expertise in corporate and banking law.
