Avv. Manfredi Burgio — Studio Legale Burgio, with registered office at Via F.D. Guerrazzi 8 – 50132 Florence, Italy (hereinafter "Studio Legale Burgio"), is the Data Controller (as defined by the GDPR) for your Personal Data (as defined by the GDPR) collected and processed through your use of the website www.studiolegaleburgio.it (hereinafter, the "Website"). Studio Legale Burgio will process your data in compliance with applicable law as described below.
This notice describes how Personal Data of users who access the Website and use related services are processed, including, for example, contact and appointment requests, information requests or questions. This notice applies only to processing carried out through the Website; third-party websites accessible via links remain subject to those third parties' privacy notices. You should review those notices before browsing third-party sites.
1. Categories of personal data
Studio Legale Burgio collects and processes the following data from visitors and users of the Website:
Personal data collected automatically
- Browsing data: In the ordinary course of operation, IT systems automatically acquire certain Personal Data, including data relating to cookies, the transmission of which is implicit in Internet communication protocols. Such data are not collected to identify users but may, by their nature, allow identification through association with data held by third parties. This category includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used to connect to the Website, URI addresses of requested resources, request time, method used to submit the request, size of the response file, numeric code indicating the server response status, and other parameters relating to the user's operating system and environment.
- Aggregated information about user behaviour on the Website (e.g. clicks or mouse movements) collected via cookies; please refer to the cookie notice for further details.
Personal data you provide directly
- Personal information (e.g. name and surname); contact data (e.g. e-mail, address, landline and/or mobile number); notes or additional information you provide that are relevant to providing the service.
- Any contact with Studio Legale Burgio via the form or voluntary messages by e-mail or post to addresses on the Website will result in collection of the sender's address (including e-mail or telephone number) necessary to respond, and any other Personal Data contained in the communication.
- Personal Data relating to third parties may be collected if you provide them via the contact form or e-mail. If you provide third parties' data, you represent that you have obtained their prior consent and will provide them this privacy notice. You are responsible for the accuracy of Personal Data provided and for updating them as needed by contacting the Firm or using available options.
1.3 Personal data of minors
Studio Legale Burgio does not offer its services to minors, except with parental consent or as required by law. If you become aware that Personal Data of minors for whom you are responsible have been transmitted to us, please inform us promptly so we can delete them.
2. Purposes and legal bases for processing
Personal Data are collected and processed electronically in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, necessity and proportionality, for the purposes and legal bases provided by the GDPR:
2.1 Contact service
Personal Data are processed to allow you to contact Studio Legale Burgio to request an appointment, information or send inquiries. This includes:
- Recording and managing information about the contact person (e.g. e-mail, first name, surname, phone number);
- Recording and storing information contained in the contact request and any documents you voluntarily attach.
The legal basis is the performance of a contract and pre-contractual measures pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
2.2 Special categories of Personal Data
If you voluntarily provide special categories of Personal Data under Article 9 GDPR (e.g. trade union membership, political opinions, race or religion), such data will be processed solely to handle your contact request. The legal basis is your explicit consent, limited to what is strictly necessary.
2.3 Communications relating to requests
Your Personal Data may be processed to send communications strictly related to your contact or appointment request, such as confirmations, reminders, updates or requests for clarification.
2.4 Exercise of defence rights
Personal Data may be processed to allow Studio Legale Burgio to defend itself in potential legal proceedings, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. This does not affect your rights and is necessary for the exercise of legal defence.
2.5 Website operation and legal obligations
Personal Data are processed to comply with laws, regulations or orders of competent authorities, pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
2.6 Service improvement
Your Personal Data may be processed in aggregate form based on the legitimate interest of Studio Legale Burgio in improving the Website and services.
3. Nature of provision of Personal Data
For the purposes in Article 2, fields marked with an asterisk on forms on the Website are mandatory to use the requested services. Failure to provide required data, or incomplete or inaccurate data, will prevent delivery of the service. Other fields are optional; refusal may not block use of the Website but may prevent fulfilment of the purposes above.
4. Recipients of Personal Data and transfers to third countries
For the above purposes, your Personal Data will be processed by authorised staff of Studio Legale Burgio and by authorised third parties acting as Processors (e.g. IT and customer support providers, hosting, data entry and mail services).
Where strictly necessary, your Personal Data may be disclosed to competent authorities, notaries, chambers of commerce, legal or tax advisors, for contractual or legal compliance. Data will not be sold or transferred to third parties for independent use.
If Studio Legale Burgio uses providers outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards are applied, including standard contractual clauses (Article 46 GDPR).
5. Retention of Personal Data
Studio Legale Burgio retains your Personal Data only as long as necessary for the purposes in Article 2, in line with civil and tax obligations and EU/Italian data protection law. Retention depends on the nature and purpose of processing, as follows:
5.1 Information and appointment requests
Data processed to manage information and appointment requests via the Website, including identification and contact data, request details and voluntary attachments, including any special categories of data: 10 years.
5.2 Website operation and legal compliance
Data processed for these purposes will be retained as long as needed to resolve technical issues and for any period required by applicable law: 10 years.
6. Security
Studio Legale Burgio adopts technical and organisational measures to protect Personal Data and IT systems used to run the Website, in line with applicable law. However, due to the nature of the Internet, risk cannot be fully eliminated. Please keep security software updated and check that your internet service provider applies appropriate measures (e.g. firewalls, spam filters).
7. Your rights
Under Article 15 GDPR, as a data subject you have the right to:
- confirmation of whether your Personal Data exist and access, including a copy (right of access);
- rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (right to rectification);
- erasure or restriction of processing where provided for by the GDPR, including where data were processed unlawfully or retention is no longer necessary (erasure and restriction);
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal;
- receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and transmit them to another controller where technically feasible (data portability).

We will respond within one month of receipt; this may be extended by two further months where complex or numerous requests require it, and we will inform you of any extension and reasons.
